Paper New England project

Please post ideas using paper as music instrument, as a way to transform sound with paper, etc. OR other concepts/questions/suggestions about how we could create a performance that would actually be interesting!!!! Also, how could we collaborate with visual artists?

Cycling 74 just put out a new program called "Cyclops" that works with MAX & Jitter. I've been experimenting with a demo version that I downloaded.

It allows for you to use live video feed as information to manipulate audio signals. We could potentially have visual artists sketching on a paper being tracked with a video camera, and have it manipulate sound (i.e. - shape filters, trigger sounds, etc.).

oh, cool! that's awesome! we should definitely investigate that, especially if we could somehow fit the paper with some contact mics or something to better integrate the act of drawing into a sonic realm. yeah, super cool.
