I would want to do something using organic materials, ie, wood, clay, water, etc. developing rhythmic ideas from the piece. There's a great section in, i believe, the fifth section where there's some incredible rhythmic polyphony, I'd like to work with that material in some form.
Do we want to decide together on certain sections to use as source material or would it be better to leave that up to each person? I'm leaning toward the former, to try to create more connection between each person's work.
Also, do we want to figure this out online or by having a meeting (if not everyone, of at least the people who will be writing music)? I am heading out of state and then out of the country after Friday. So if we want to have a meeting this week, I could do it. Otherwise, I'll be away.
I also like the idea of assigning each person who'd like to compose to a certain movement. We have Bill, Jess, Lief, Kate, Dave, and I -- so that seems like it works out perfect?
I would really like to take either the last movement, or 2nd movement.
In terms of a meeting, I'm out of town as of Wed. morning.

I am interested in doing a portion of the last movement. From rehearsal 48 to rehearsal 55. I am willing to do more of course but this section especially is favorite of mine.
2nd mvmt is cool too.
